OJOKORO CHAIRMAN PLEDGES MORE PARTNERSHIPS AS LSETF PRESENTS LOAN CHEQUES TO BENEFICIARIES
The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, has reiterated her administration’s commitment to partnering with more agencies to bring meaningful development and economic empowerment to residents of the council.
The chairman, represented by the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Ipaye Usman Idowu, stated this on Thursday, October 2, during the presentation of Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) loan cheques to beneficiaries at the council secretariat.
She described the initiative as a lifeline for entrepreneurs, artisans, and small business owners, stressing that such support helps to reduce unemployment, curb poverty, and uplift families at the grassroots. She urged the beneficiaries to see the loans as a seed that must be nurtured responsibly, by investing wisely and ensuring timely repayment.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Secretary of LSETF, Mrs. Feyisayo Alayande, praised Ojokoro LCDA for its collaboration, noting that it was the joint efforts of the council and the agency that made the initiative a reality for the people of Ojokoro.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Mujidat Abdulkareem, expressed gratitude for the financial support, saying the loan would significantly boost her business. She also promised to repay promptly to enable others benefit from the scheme.
Present at the event was the Council's Legislators, some management staff of the council, officials from LSETF and the beneficiaries of the loan.
The cheque presentation was seen as another milestone in Lagos State’s efforts to empower citizens at the grassroots, with assurances from both LSETF and Ojokoro LCDA to continue driving initiatives that create opportunities and transform lives
