It was a day of excitement and cheers at Ojokoro-Ijaiye Primary School as pupils welcomed the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, who led her team to distribute customized exercise books and writing materials as part of her administration’s ongoing *Back-to-School Initiative. The program, aimed at supporting public school pupils, is designed to ease the financial burden on parents while motivating children to take their education seriously.

Hon. Rosiji, accompanied by council legislators and management staff, personally handed out the materials to the delighted pupils, reinforcing her administration’s commitment to education. Speaking during the event, the Council Chairman highlighted the importance of the initiative, explaining that it serves to inspire pupils to excel academically while providing some financial relief to families. “Education is the foundation for a brighter future, and we are determined to ensure that every child in Ojokoro LCDA has access to the tools they need to succeed,” she stated.

The pupils, brimming with gratitude, sang songs of appreciation and expressed their joy at receiving the materials. Teachers and parents at the event lauded the council’s efforts, describing the initiative as timely and impactful. Many noted that such gestures would boost the morale of the children and encourage them to take their studies more seriously.

Hon. Rosiji also reaffirmed her administration’s dedication to improving educational outcomes in the LCDA by rolling out more programs to support schools, teachers, and pupils. She emphasized that investing in education is a crucial step toward fostering development and empowering future generations.

This latest distribution is part of a broader effort by the Rosiji administration to ensure no child is left behind in their pursuit of quality education. The initiative has already reached multiple schools across the council area, with plans to cover all public schools in Ojokoro LCDA.

Education once again took center stage in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area as the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, restated her administration’s commitment to raising the standard of learning across the council.

Hon. Rosiji gave the assurance on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Ebenezer Primary School during the official flag-off of the distribution of free customized exercise books and pens to pupils in all public schools within the LCDA.

According to her, the initiative was not only designed to welcome pupils back to school after the long break but also to motivate them to embrace learning with greater seriousness. She noted that education remains the most reliable key to unlocking success and described the exercise as both a relief to parents and a direct investment in the future of Ojokoro.

While applauding teachers for their tireless contributions to child development, the council boss assured them of continuous government support and hinted at fresh innovations that will soon be introduced into the school system to improve teaching and learning.

The Education Secretary of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, Mr. Olalekan Jongbo, who attended the event, lauded Hon. Rosiji’s intervention, noting that it would ease the financial pressure on parents. He, however, appealed for additional support in the form of stipends to headteachers for school maintenance and called on councillors to strengthen ties with schools in their wards by visiting them more frequently.

Earlier, the Council Manager, Mrs. Akinola Mojisola, in her welcome remarks, commended the council chairman for complementing parents’ efforts while urging the pupils to be disciplined and focused in their studies.

The distribution exercise, which attracted wide excitement, saw the pupils expressing joy and appreciation, as many prayed for the council chairman for her generosity and concern for their education.
