ROSIJI SET TO EMPOWER YOUTHS WITH ICT SKILLS THROUGH FREE TRAINING PROGRAM
In a bid to empower the youths and bridge the digital skills gap, Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Rosiji, the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has announced a six-month ICT Training Program designed to equip young people with essential technological skills. This initiative was disclosed in a press release made available by the Public Affairs Unit of the LCDA.
The training, scheduled to begin on 1st September 2025, will run from Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm, and cover a wide range of ICT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Corel Suite, Networking, and other software packages. Interested participants are encouraged to visit the ICT Unit at the LCDA for registration.
Speaking on the importance of the program, Hon. Rosiji emphasized the critical role of digital literacy in empowering youths to compete in today’s technology-driven world. She noted that ICT skills are no longer optional but a necessity for securing employment, fostering entrepreneurship, and driving innovation.
“Empowering our youths with ICT skills is not just about giving them tools; it’s about preparing them for the future. Technology is the backbone of modern economies, and our young people must be equipped to thrive in this digital age,” Hon. Rosiji stated.
The Chairman explained that the training program is part of her administration’s broader agenda to invest in human capital development and create opportunities for the youth to contribute meaningfully to society. She urged young residents of Ojokoro LCDA to take advantage of the program and acquire skills that would enhance their career prospects and entrepreneurial aspirations.
The Public Affairs Unit highlighted that the initiative aligns with global trends, where ICT proficiency is increasingly becoming a prerequisite for personal and professional success.
