OJOKORO LCDA GROOMS FUTURE LEADERS, GRADUATES 130 TRAINEES IN DUAL CELEBRATION

It was a day of inspiration and celebration in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area on Monday, October 27, 2025, as the council held a dual event — the Showcase of the One-Day Chairman and One-Day Leader of the House, and the Graduation Ceremony of the School of Vocational Studies.

The Executive Chairman, Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, received the One-Day Chairman, Master Taiwo Daniel of Ijaiye-Ojokoro High School, and the One-Day Leader of the House, Miss Biobaku Oluwaferami of Ebenezer Primary School, in her office where she symbolically handed over her green pen and file to the young “Chairman.”

The leadership simulation continued at the Legislative Chamber, where the Leader of the House vacated his seat for the One-Day Leader to preside over proceedings before the event moved to the Council Hall for the graduation of 130 vocational trainees trained in various crafts.

In her address, Hon. Rosiji described the exercise as “a seed of leadership being planted in our children,” urging the young leaders to embrace humility, integrity, and service. She congratulated the graduands, encouraging them to use their skills to build better lives and contribute to community development.

In his remarks, the One-Day Chairman, Master Taiwo Daniel, thanked the Executive Chairman for her commitment to education and appealed for a modern library, support for his Press Club, and empowerment for his mother.

Earlier, the Council Manager, Mrs. Mojisola Akinola, commended the Chairman for giving the pupils an opportunity to experience leadership firsthand, while representatives of the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Education District I, and the Head of Education, Mr. Tajudeen Quadri, praised the council’s investment in education and youth empowerment.

The event concluded with the presentation of #250,000 each the One-Day Chairman and One-Day Leader and certificates to the graduands amidst applause and celebration, a fitting end to a day that blended leadership grooming with skill development in Ojokoro LCDA.

EGBE-IDIMU LCDA PRODUCES WINNERS AT 2025 SPELLING BEE COMPETITION

Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) on Thursday, September 25, 2025, held its annual Spelling Bee Competition at the Council Multipurpose Hall, Foke, with outstanding performances from both primary and secondary school pupils.

The event, which drew wide participation from schools across the council, was a platform to showcase the intelligence, confidence, and determination of young learners.

Representing the Chairperson of Egbe-Idimu LCDA was Mrs. Ayinde Adebukola, wife of the Vice Chairman, while the Executive Chairman, Hon. Prince Idris Balogun, also made a brief appearance to encourage and inspire the contestants during the keenly contested competition.

At the end of the event, the following pupils emerged winners:

Primary School Category

1st – Otoho Donald (Ore Ofe Primary School, Egbe)

2nd – Ojeleye Mahmud (Local Government Primary School)

3rd – Akinwande Opemipo (Idimu Community Primary School)

Secondary School Category

1st – Ibrahim Akram (Olorunfunmi Junior Secondary School)

2nd – Abdulsalam Misturah (Olorunfunmi Secondary Grammar School)

3rd – Adebiyi Ayanfe Naomi (Egbe Junior High School)

The winners are set to represent Egbe-Idimu LCDA at the State level of the Spelling Bee Competition, with high hopes that they will bring glory to the council.

The council congratulated all participants for their brilliance and resilience, describing them as the “shining stars of Egbe-Idimu.”

HON. ROSIJI SETS EDUCATION AGENDA, CELEBRATES PUPILS AT OJOKORO SPELLING BEE COMPETITION

The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, has set a fresh education agenda for the council, pledging more innovative initiatives to uplift the sector while celebrating the brilliance of pupils and students at the 2025 Spelling Bee Preliminary Competition.

Speaking at the event held on Thursday, 25th September 2025 at the Council Secretariat, Hon. Rosiji noted that education remains the bedrock of sustainable development and assured that her administration will continue to prioritize policies and programmes that encourage creativity, discipline, and academic excellence. She stressed that in the coming months, more innovative projects will spring up to further support the growth of learning across Ojokoro.

The Chairman recalled that only yesterday, her administration flagged off the distribution of free customized exercise books to all public schools in Ojokoro LCDA as part of a “Welcome Back to School” package, aimed at supporting pupils and easing the financial burden on parents.

Hon. Rosiji also used the occasion to advise pupils to shun truancy, cultism, and other social vices that could derail their future. According to her, “While spelling words correctly is important, what is more important is spelling out a good future for yourselves through discipline, focus, and hard work.”

After much drilling in spellings, the competition produced winners. In the Primary School Category, Miss Biobaku Oluwaferami from Ebenezer Primary School emerged winner, while Miss Odeh Anabel of Vetland Primary School came 1st runner-up, and Master Akinduro Ezekiel from Gbeleyi Primary School took the 2nd runner-up position.

In the Secondary School Category, Master Taiwo Daniel from Ijaiye-Ojokoro High School clinched the top prize, with Miss Mustapha Victoria of Vetland Grammar School as 1st runner-up, and Miss Ismail Royhannah as 2nd runner-up.

The winners, who were decorated with medals and presented prizes, will represent Ojokoro LCDA at the state level. The competition ended on a joyous note, with cheers from pupils and teachers celebrating their colleagues’ and students' achievements.

In his closing remark, the Head of Education and Library Services, Mr. Tajudeen Quadri, appreciated the Chairman for her unwavering support to the education sector. He commended the teachers and pupils for their commitment and urged the winners to aim for the grand prize at the state level — the prestigious “One-Day Governor” title.
