EMPOWERING EDUCATION: LAGOS MAINLAND LG GIVES OUT FREE GCE FORMS
Lagos Mainland Local Government has taken a bold step in empowering education by distributing free General Certificate in Education (GCE) forms to 500 indigent students within the community. This initiative, led by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Emilagba Jubril Kolawole, emphasizes the council’s commitment to fostering sustainable education and supporting students at critical stages of their academic journeys.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Hon. Kolawole highlighted the importance of education as a cornerstone for human advancement. "Education remains a core pillar of human advancement, and by supporting our students at critical stages of their academic journey, we are securing a brighter future for both the individuals and our community at large," he remarked.
The event attracted notable figures, including Hon. Jide Jimoh, Member of the Federal Capital Civil Service Commission and former member of the Federal House of Representatives. Jimoh praised the initiative and urged the beneficiaries to seize the opportunity by excelling in their forthcoming examinations.
The beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Kolawole and pledged to make the most of the support they had received. According to Mrs. Adewale Toluwalase, Public Affairs Officer of the Local Government, who made the press release available, the initiative reflects the administration’s dedication to strengthening grassroots education and creating opportunities for young people to thrive.
This program is yet another example of Lagos Mainland Local Government's efforts to bridge educational gaps and empower the youth for a brighter future. With 500 students benefiting from this year's initiative, the council is reaffirming its commitment to building a community where education is accessible to all.
