FROM PUFF-PUFF SELLER TO GOVERNMENT HOUSE CHEF: GOVERNOR ADELEKE FULFILS PROMISE
In a heartwarming twist of fate, a humble puff-puff seller, Oluwatosin Adejumo, has gone from frying snacks on the roadside to serving meals at the Osun State Government House.
Governor Ademola Adeleke, popularly known for his lively and people-friendly style, officially presented Adejumo with her appointment letter on Friday, sealing his promise to make her one of the Government House chefs.
The remarkable journey began on Thursday, August 25, when a video of the governor buying all of Adejumo’s snacks for ₦50,000 during a rally in Osogbo went viral. In the clip, Adeleke warmly invited the young vendor into his vehicle, asked about her qualifications, and discovered she held a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) — along with an impressive list of dishes she could prepare.
True to his word, the governor turned that chance encounter into a life-changing opportunity. Adejumo has now resumed her duties as a chef at the Government House, a testament to how kindness, timing, and a little bit of luck can transform a life overnight.
