 AGBADO OKE-ODO LCDA CHAIRMAN DISTRIBUTES FREE GCE FORMS TO 500 INDENTS YOUTHS

In a bold move to empower the youth and promote educational development, the Executive Chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Ishola Jimoh Abiodun, has distributed free General Certificate of Education (GCE) forms to 500 indigent youths within the council area. This initiative, announced on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the council secretariat, shows the chairman’s commitment to youth empowerment and education as key pillars of his administration.


Speaking to newsmen, Hon. Ishola, popularly referred to as _“Imolede”_ (The Light Has Arrived), highlighted the importance of investing in the future of children and youth, describing them as the leaders of tomorrow. “If, as a nation, we fail to invest in their future, we are sitting on a keg of gunpowder,” he stated passionately. He further emphasized that youth development and empowerment remain central to his administration’s agenda, with a promise to ensure that all children and youths in the council area feel the positive impact of his leadership.

The council boss assured residents that his administration is committed to delivering the dividends of democracy to everyone, regardless of social, ethnic, religious, or political background. As part of his plans to mark his first 100 days in office, Hon. Ishola pledged to focus on impactful projects across key sectors such as infrastructure, health, education, environment, economy, security, sports, as well as empowerment programs for the youth, aged, and widows.

Hon. Ishola also appealed to residents to support the council by performing their civic duties, including prompt payment of levies and rates, and urged them to remain law-abiding citizens.

This initiative, which is aimed at uplifting indigent students and fostering educational growth, was detailed in a press release issued by the Public Affairs Unit of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA. It reflects the chairman’s determination to make education accessible and impactful for the less privileged within the community.
